Rocio Ramirez-Landoll has set up the Travelling Ofrenda in various venues to preserve this tradition of ancient cultural expression. The Travelling Ofrenda remembers, honors, and celebrates the lives of loved ones who have passed.
An invitation is extended to bring photo copies in frames (no originals due to weather conditions) of relatives who have passed away to put on to the Ofrenda.
Local artists and volunteers helped create a unique and rich experience for the community. This year Rocio Ramirez-Landoll and Diane Torres were awarded a grant from Texas Folklife for the creation of a skeleton Mariachi band using a traditional form of Mexican paper mache.
There will be a free outdoor showing of COCO on Saturday, October 29th at 7 p.m., which has become a favorite family/date night event, weather permitting. Bring blanket or lawn chairs.
